Hello! I'm Katherine, a creative specialising in visual communications and strategic design. Born in Singapore, based in Berlin.

My career started on the front lines of visual storytelling. From working as a senior video producer and photographer at ELLE Singapore and T: The New York Times Style Magazine Singapore, to handling corporate media pipelines at BMW Group AG and managing live shoots across Europe, I’ve spent over seven years translating brand identities into high-impact visuals.

Along side, I founded AFTERDARK, an independent documentary project capturing alternative automotive culture between Poland, Lithuania, Germany and counting. Being both front and back facing on set taught me how to manage small crews, troubleshoot in real-time, and make complex productions run with minimal friction.

Visual polish is only half the story. Over time, my work on documentary interviews and cultural ethnography naturally evolved into qualitative user research. Deep observation, stakeholder alignment, and visualising messy human behaviours into clear insights translated well between production and strategic design.

Transitioning this mindset into the design space, I’ve applied these methods to real-world problem-solving, such as researching and developing digital solutions at N3XTCODER in Berlin, which culminated in presenting strategic concepts on stage at re:publica’25 in front of representatives from Microsoft, GitHub, and the German Ausbildung.

Whether I am directing a commercial campaign, shaping internal enterprise assets, or architecting a user journey, my goal is always the same: removing friction and creating optimal, human-centered experiences. Navigating life and work between Asia and Europe has given me a dual-lens perspective on cultural nuances, allowing me to bridge creative vision with rigorous, strategic execution.
